Natalie is wearing a little 1950s flouncy skirted vintage dress that she popped a sweater over. It gives the dress an entirely different look and is an amazing styling tip. A lot of girls look at these full skirted dresses and love them but are not quite sure what to do with them. It may be a classic silhouette but it is not a silhouette you see in abundance down at the local mall or on all the girls hanging out in the food court. So these full skirted pieces tend to get reserved for prom or weddings, or if a girl is young enough — any event her mother can still pull the "you are wearing it because I said so".
But Natalie manages to make her fifties dress looks chic and modern and I love it. Go and pull those fifties frocks out from the murky, back depths of your closets right now and look at them with a new eye! Give them a little shot of Joos style mixed with your own twist and wear one out for day this week!
The shot above is of her on the streets during Fashion Week but she also has started a little mini series of videos on her blog, Tales of Endearment, showing how her actually putting outfits together as she gets dressed and that series includes showing her putting this outfit together:

Natalie is one of my favorite people in fashion and though we have exchanged many emails I have yet to meet her. You just can't help but think she is a super girl in person and I can't wait for the day we finally meet up!
