By now the Mary Katrantzou for Topshop collection is most likely sold out and your best bet is eBay or perhaps a back alley dealer if you missed getting a piece of it. If you were one of the girls who snagged a piece from the collection, then you will be doubly delighted to see these pictures. Susie (who is a past Shrimpton Couture wearing beauty and the author behind the amazing Style Bubble Blog ), was sent a preview of some of the MK for TS duds and she has styled this particular dress in her own magical, Susie kind of a way. First with a little grey tee under it — whichoddly works for me despite that fact that I would never have thought to do this — and also by topping it with a blingy beaded vintage cardigan. Love!
The moral of our Vintage meets Bubbles pictorial is not to be afraid to mix seemingly at odds, textures and prints! And of course mix in vintage!
Mixing the very new and the very old = very fabulous girl wearing vintage
PS If you clicked the link over to Susie's blog and saw her in that little vintage kimono I sent her way, you should also see this — she has worn it a few times and it actually made a debut in an issue of the Net-A-Porter magazine and was previously shown off here ! I cannot even begin to tell you how happy it makes me when I see someone love and wear a vintage piece I sourced and make it firmly a part of their wardrobe. Kind a makes a girl feel a little weepy — in a good kind of way :). Need a kimono in your life now? My present stock of various kimonos and caftans can be seen here !
