The ankle length skirt can be tough and a lot of girl bypass it — we have this long or short mentality — either it has to sweep the floor or show as much leg as possible. A skirt that shows just a glimpse of the ankle equates to looking old fashion to many a girl and it is the toughest length to get girls to buy from a vintage prospective. And to try to get a girl to wear this in the day time- yikes! It is an insurmountable fashion dilemma for most girls.
So this morning when I saw this picture of Oksana wearing this length on the blog — All The Pretty Birds — I was compelled to post it here. This is a simple lesson in how to wear this length (and not a bad color combining lesson either). The skirt takes center stage and the length allows that wonderful pop of color she brought in through the shoe to show off to full advantage. She cinched the waist so the silhouette remains long and lean, but it still gives her shape. I love how she picked up the red of the skirt with the wonderful red sunglasses (Miu Miu?) and the Charlotte Olympia clutch.
What do you think? Does this make you reconsider this length skirt? Do you wear this length now or have you ever tried it?
